ROLEPLAY GUIDE
By joining Soul cutting sword, you are agreeing to obey the rules to the best of your abilities. As a result this thread should be read before you do anything to avoid accidently breaking the rules. This is because ignorance of the rules, will not excuse you from the resulting punishment if you break any of the rules. So claiming it isn’t your fault because you hadn’t read the rules yet will not get you off the hook. The severity of the punishment for breaking the rules will be decided on a case to case basis by staff.
The five universal rules of roleplay.
- Respect
Everyone should aim to get along and avoid out of character conflict. We however aren’t naïve enough to think that everyone on the site will be best friends, but we do at least expect you to tolerate each other. If an issue does arise, they attempt to talk it out in a calm manner via PM’s not in the Cbox. If the matter can’t be resolved via PM, you may contact staff to help with the situation. It should be noted that staff are also members of the site, we role play and have a life. So reading PM’s and responding to requests may take time, you just have to be patient.- Don’t take things to seriously
As with the majority of interactions over the internet you can’t be harmed as a direct result of what you do. Upon meeting new people you will also be unable to tell what their typical persona is, what might be funny to you may not be funny to them and vice versa. Most of the time you will also be unable to tell what the undertones of the text are, if someone is being sarcastic or serious is an example. All in all we are all here to have fun, so try and enjoy yourself.- Have fun!
The reason we are here is to have fun. This is a site that people use to try and relax and enjoy themselves. So try your best to make the site enjoyable for everyone, this means don’t deliberately try to upset someone. Remember to try and advance your plot development, and expand the circle of characters you know.- No godmodding
This is the act of controlling things outside of your range of control. This could for example be controlling someone else’s character. This is generally a universal rule across all role play sites so shouldn’t come as a big surprise.
[/li][li]No metagaming[/u]
This is the act of using out of character knowledge and/or resources to affect your in-character actions. Again this is generally a universal rule across all role play sites, although metagaming is more subjective as it involves the factor of chance. So there could be a chance that your character would do that action etc.[/li][/ul]
Site wide rules.
- One character per an account.
The title pretty much says it all, you may only have one active character on your account. If you want another character you are faced with two options. The first is kill of your current character, and make a new one on the same account. The second is making a new account and having an active character on each account.
Keep an accurate record of your exp points
There must be a visible indication of how much exp points you have. This is a very simple thing to keep track of, and simply stating the number in the signature area, or personal text will suffice. Failure to do so will be seen as an attempt to cheat. Failure to comply with this rule will almost always result in a large loss of exp points.
